Amanda Steurer-Zamora

Amanda Steurer-Zamora was born in the Pacific Northwest seaport of Port Townsend. After graduating from high school in her small hometown she went off to New York City to attend NYU and specifically theater at the Stella Adler Conservatory. She received a BFA in Theatre, while focused on Costuming and Women's Studies. Upon graduation she realized that Broadway was not beating down her door, so she took a job in an Italian Family's Trattoria on the Upper Eastside of Manhattan. She would not stay there long, but in the next year she would go from being a Coat Check girl to Hostess and finally all the way to being the Part-time Maître d' at the newly awarded 3 star restaurant, Babbo Enoteca.  Over the next 2 decades she would work in the restaurant industry, from opening restaurants in New York City, to being a manager at Spago on Maui, running front of house at Allium in the Berkshires and finally back to Port Townsend.

Amanda is never one to be bored and would include doing a stint in the Bridal Industry to her resume, where she traveled the country selling bridal gowns. She tried her hand at drawing with chalk pastels, where she had a small hallway gallery and hosted Salons with other fellow creatives. Then during the revival of her theatre career, she would act again, direct, and even attended the Lincoln Center's Directors Lab in NYC.

By the time Amanda was in her late 30's, she had traveled, explored, loved and lost when she found herself in Western Massachusetts where she met Walter.

Two years later she would return to Port Townsend with a baby girl, Isabel, a husband and 2 pit bulls. The marriage did not last long, and upon waking from a dream realized if she were to be a single mother, Real Estate would be her trade. At the beginning of her 3rd year in Real Estate the pandemic hit, and at the end of November 2020 at her kitchen table, she began to write.
With her book,

She is currently living in her Victorian home in Port Townsend with her daughter, Isabel and dog, Azalea Strawberry.
